| Offer-In-Compromise
The Internal Revenue Service is actively soliciting the
delinquent taxpayer to submit an Offer-In-Compromise. They want
to first look at receiving payment in full, then establishing an
installment agreement, and if those avenues don’t work, an Offer. As
time goes on the likelihood, of receiving a full payment for
the delinquent taxes declines, thus their interest in the Offer
program. Due to the actions of some promoters' offers to "settle for
pennies on the dollar", the Internal Revenue Service has implemented
a $150 fee for each Offer submitted. When we prepare and compute
your Offer, we don't make claims un-supported by the facts of your
case. Each Offer is unique and has to be carefully reviewed for
accuracy and completeness. The Internal Revenue Service is
willing to give you a fresh start. Don't delay in getting on with
your life and getting the burden of your tax liability removed.
An
Offer-In-Compromise is allowable under one of the following
categories:
Doubt as to Liability - "I
don't think I owe this tax bill."
Doubt as to Collectibility -
"I can't pay this amount, now or in the future."
Effective Tax Administration -
"Collecting from me just wouldn't be fair."
Once you have engaged us to represent you, the
following occurs:
We will review your situation,
Prepare the necessary
forms,
Send them to the Internal
Revenue Service,
Answer any questions that come
up,
Assist you in complying with
any of their requests for more information.
Once the Offer-In-Compromise is approved, you will make
the necessary payment and begin to enjoy life again.

Installment
Agreement
Sometimes it just
isn’t possible to pay a delinquent tax bill when received. Internal
Revenue Service employees can and do grant Installment Agreements.
Our concern is that you get the right Installment Agreement, which
is not necessarily what the Internal Revenue Service wants.
Penalties and interest can easily exceed 16% a year; entering into
the wrong Installment Agreement can be expensive. With 20+ years
experience with the Internal Revenue Service Collection Division,
I’ll review your case, analyze the facts, and make a recommendation
to solve your tax liability. Just remember, the Internal Revenue
Service wants their money as fast as possible, we want the best plan
for you.
If you are
already on an Installment Agreement and it’s not working for you, we
will look into alternatives that meet your ability to pay.

Abatement of
Penalties
Yes, the Internal
Revenue Service will charge you penalties and yes, they will abate
those penalties, IF, you have reasonable cause. Normally, not having
the money is not reasonable cause, but it may be. Loss of records,
death of a spouse, health issues, embezzlement of your
funds, are just a few of the issues that we can address. Once
we represent you, we will review the facts of your case, and if
appropriate, start the request for the abatement process. Another
option may be an Offer-In-Compromise.

Lien and Levy
Releases
The
difference in a Federal Tax Lien and Levy is tremendous. When you
file your unpaid tax return, the Internal Revenue service sends you
a Notice and Demand for payment of the delinquent tax liability. If
you fail to pay the bill within 10 days the Internal Revenue Service
has a lien against all of your assets. The only ones who know about
the lien are you and the Internal Revenue Service Computer. When
they file a Notice of Federal Tax Lien at the local courthouse, the
whole world can find out about the tax lien. This is when the Credit
Bureaus find out about the tax lien and place it in your credit
file. Even when the lien is released, the negative record stays with
the Credit Bureau. When we represent clients in front of the
Internal Revenue Service, we try to keep the Notice of Federal Tax
Lien from being filed, thus protecting your credit.
A
Levy, either a wage levy or a bank levy, acts like a garnishment.
The Internal Revenue Service uses the Levy as a way to get your
attention. The wage levy takes a large part of your take home pay
from work. The bank levy takes ALL of the money from your bank
account, even if you have checks outstanding that haven’t cleared.
The bank levy is held for 21 days from date of receipt, but the
money in your account is frozen. Tax Defenders, LLC
will diligently work to get an immediate levy
release. Be leery of claims that someone can guarantee a
release. That act is impossible to guarantee. With 20+ years of
Internal Revenue Service collection experience, I have released
hundreds of levies, and there have been times they weren’t released.

Non-Filed Returns
Did you forget to file? Maybe something
came up and you couldn’t file? Are you worried what will happen to
you next? In a vast majority of cases, if you file the returns and
work out some type of payment arrangement, the Internal Revenue
Service will be happy. There are cases that come to the attention of
the Criminal Investigation Division for prosecution. If the Criminal
Investigation Division has not contacted you, we can prepare any
past due returns you haven’t filed and work with Internal Revenue
Service on a payment plan, which may include an Offer-In-Compromise.
